California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
Last updated: July 23, 2026
This notice supplements our Privacy Policy and applies to California residents. The California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (together, "CCPA"), gives California residents specific rights over their personal information. This page explains those rights and how to exercise them with Best Coverage Plans.
Right to Know
You have the right to request that we disclose the personal information we have collected about you over the past 12 months, including the categories of information collected, the sources of that information, the business purposes for collecting it, the categories of third parties with whom it was shared, sold, or disclosed, and the specific pieces of personal information we hold about you.
Right to Delete
You have the right to request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions (for example, information we must retain to complete a transaction you requested, detect security incidents, or comply with a legal obligation). Once we receive and verify your request, we will delete your information from our records and direct our service providers to do the same, unless an exception applies.
Right to Correct
You have the right to request that we correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
Right to Opt Out of Sale or Sharing
Because our service involves providing your information to Business Partners who may contact you about insurance products, some of our disclosures may qualify as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under the CCPA. You have the right to direct us not to sell or share your personal information. To exercise this right, visit our Notice of Right to Opt Out page or email opt-out@bestcoverageplans.com with the subject line "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information."
Right to Non-Discrimination
We will never discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights. Exercising your rights will not result in different prices, service levels, or quality, and we will not deny you services for making a request.
How to Submit a Request
To submit a request to know, delete, or correct, you may:
- Email us at privacy@bestcoverageplans.com with the subject line "California Privacy Request"; or
- Email our opt-out address at opt-out@bestcoverageplans.com for opt-out requests specifically.
Please include your full name, email address, and telephone number so we can locate your records, and describe the right you wish to exercise. We will need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request to know, delete, or correct — typically by matching the information in your request against information we already hold. We will respond to verifiable requests within 45 days; if we need more time (up to an additional 45 days), we will let you know.
Authorized Agents
You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. The agent must provide written proof that you authorized them to act for you (such as a signed permission letter or power of attorney), and we may still ask you to verify your own identity directly with us or confirm that you granted the agent permission. We may deny requests from agents who do not provide adequate proof of authorization.
